Guide to our game

With my team member, Sherlyn and Yoksan, we created a game called Chemistry: Periodic tables, using construct 2. The game consists of two mini games. The first one being a trivia game revolving around a periodic table and its elements, while the second game is a guessing game revolving elements and its properties. Here is a guide on how to play the game

When the game is started, it will direct the user to a main menu screen as shown below:

There are three buttons on the main menu interface, which is start button, volume button, and the about button.

Start button will lead the user towards the minigame selection interface where two minigames will be shown like below:

The first game, which is the Simple Quiz game is a multiple choice game where user just need to click on the correct answer to gain points using the mouse. no keyboard needed.

All answers can be derived from the periodic table above, therefore user can use the table as a guide to get the correct answer. Timers are set for 15 seconds each question. The faster the user answers, the more points granted to the user. When the timer runs out or the user answers wrongly, game over interface will be shown and user can either click “play again” button or click back button at the top left of the screen to go back to the minigame selection interface.

The second game, which is the “Guess the element game” is a guessing game in which user will have to type out the answer of the shown element and its atomic number. Example of the game playing is shown below:

There are currently 5 preset questions that the user can answer as many as they can. More questions can be added later in the future. The faster the user answer, the more points the user will obtain. Once all the questions are answered, user will be directed to the main menu interface.

Below is another interface that lets the user adjust the volume and sound effect of the game after pressing the volume button on the main menu.

Player Controls:

Not many controls are needed for this game. For the first game, only mouse is used to play the game, while for the second game, keyboards are highly needed to answer the question.

Contribution of each member:

I am in charge of creating the first game, Yoksan is in charge of creating the second game, while Sherlyn is mainly in charge of the design, volume, sound effects. But if there are problems in some cases, we help each other out.

Items used:

All items used in this game are taken from internet and are made sure to be available for copyright usage. Links for each items are posted on the about page of the game.
